UW’s Thomas headed to NBA

So, I was sound asleep on the plane ride home this morning when I awoke, startled. I think we were somewhere over Kansas. Wichita, maybe? Anyhow, I had this terrible thought Klay Thompson was holding a press conference and I wasn't there. Imagine my surprise when I get back to Spokane and find out it wasn't Thompson leaving for the NBA. But somebody was. Read on.

• No, it wasn't Washington State's star guard. It was Washington's. Yes, Isaiah Thomas, who tweeted often after the Huskies last game he was coming back, has changed his mind. And, though he won't hire an agent right now, he's not returning to UW for his senior season. Not my words, his. "It is a goodbye," he told Seattle reporters on a conference call. Now three Pac-10 players have said they will leave and not return: USC's Nikola Vucevic, UCLA's Tyler Honecutt and Thomas.
