Time for WSU to prepare for Buffs

COUGARS

Even though we pretty much took the day off yesterday, we still have some Washington State news to share, so read on.

••••••••••

• Washington State: The news? The start time for the Colorado game has been set and it's on television. It will start at 12:30 p.m. PDT (or 1:30 in Boulder) and will be televised on Fox College Sports Pacific. ... Other than that there isn't a lot of WSU news (the Cougars return to the practice field this afternoon) but that doesn't mean you should stop reading.

•••

• Around the Pac-12: From Oklahoma, where the regents gave the president the authority to make a conference change, to Texas (ditto) to Los Angeles to all points in between, everyone is staking out their territory (or doing what dogs do) in the conference re-alignment world. Where it will end, no one knows, but it sure looks as if a school like Washington State has to be happy it's in the Pac-12 and not the Big 12 or Big East. ... ESPN.com's Ted Miller gives us the news concerning the Pac-12 players of the week and takes a quick look at this week's games. ... What of USC ends up the conference's best team? ... Washington: Though Keith Price's knee is not 100 percent, he says he will be on the field this week when the Huskies host Cal in a key conference game. ... Coach Steve Sarkisian promises he'll keep his composure. ... Oregon State: Is Mike Riley playing the coaching game when talking about James Rodgers? Sure. He's a coach, isn't he? ... Oregon: The Ducks two-headed tight end rotation seems to be working better than its running back one. ... California: Special teams have to play with more consistency this week. ... Stanford: It's official. Linebacker Shayne Skov is out for the year. ... Colorado: Buffs' coach Jon Embree almost ended up at Ohio State. ... Utah: If the conference does expand, Utah should be sitting pretty. ... USC: The Trojans should be motivated in the desert. ... UCLA: The Bruins have only won two conference road games in Rick Neuheisel's tenure. ... Arizona State: The Sun Devils feel they left points on the field in Illinois. ... Arizona: Three consecutive top 10 opponents is no way to get healthy - or build a winning record.

•••

• That's it for this morning. The Pac-12 coaches call is today, then WSU has practice later in the afternoon. We'll be back after the latter. Until then ...
