A Saturday off, but not from links

FROM PULLMAN — Today marks the second off-day for the Washington State football team so far this preseason. But, as usual, there are stories for the reading. Read on, and such.

We'll start you off with a link to our preview of WSU's linebackers, and then add this link to our daily coverage of WSU's practice on the blog. … That's about it on the WSU front.

Around the Pac-12 (and BYU) … Arizona is upgrading its special teams. … Arizona State's offensive coordinator is “detailed.” … Washington reinstated a couple of players who had been dismissed a day earlier. … USC's backup quarterbacks say they're ready to go if something happens to whoever their starter is. … UCLA's linebacker corps is a work in progress. … Utah's quarterback has a sore shoulder. … A Colorado defensive lineman is trying to live up to his potential. … Oregon State isn't worried about defensive line depth. … Oregon thinks it can sell out its home opener, though it's not looking great. … BYU has plenty of depth at inside linebacker.

All for now.
