NOTEBOOK: An old face is back to coach football at Sandpoint.

WEDNESDAY HOOPS: The Post Falls and Lake City boys won 5A Inland Empire League finales, forging a 3-way tie for first with Coeur d'Alene. A coin flip this morning determined that Coeur d'Alene will be the No. 1 seed and host the first night of the tourney, Feb. 17. CdA will play No. 4 Lewiston and LC and Post Falls square off. The winner of the PF/LC game will be the second seed and the loser the third seed for the remainder of the tournament.

The Ferris boys and girls won the Rubber Chicken games and the Newport girls ended Freeman's winning streak at 43 here.
