Mike Breske is Cougars’ next defensive coordinator

COUGARS

FROM PULLMAN -- A quick post to pass along our story on Mike Breske, the Cougars' new defensive coordinator. Read on.

...

This one will be short and sweet. Our story is linked here. As was reported earlier in the week, the team met the new coaching staff during an afternoon meeting in Pullman on Sunday. Breske, who was Montana's defensive coordinator the last two seasons (and from 2000-2002) after a six-year stint at Wyoming, was in attendance, according to a source.

As noted in the story, it appears Leach's staff is just about complete. Click here for Breske's bio from Montana's official website. And click here for a look at the WSU faculty directory, which lists nine names under a search of "football assistant." (It's interesting, by the way, that if you change the search to simply "football," most of Paul Wulff's staff is still listed in there, too.) All of those should look familiar to anyone who has been following the coaching search, as each name has popped up in some media report or another.

The AFCA conference ends Wednesday in San Antonio. Leach has said he wants to wait until that conference is over before announcing all of his staff hires at once. Nothing is official yet.

That's all for now. We'll be back in the morning.
