More on GU-Saint Mary’s

Some day I'll have to add up the hours/days/weeks I've spent at Sea-Tac Airport. I've got some time on my hands in the terminal and i noticed reading the S-R this morning that the last four paragraphs of my GU-Saint Mary's preview were cut.

You can read them below.

Also, here's a link to a San Francisco Chronicle article on the emergence of Jorden Page and Stephen Holt.

Gonzaga plays a tougher non-conference schedule than Saint Mary’s, but Few said there are merits to both approaches. The Gaels are on their way to a fifth consecutive season with at least 25 wins, but they didn’t receive an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament last year despite a 25-8 record. The Gaels lost to Kent State in the first round of the NIT.

“Both of them are right, as far as building the confidence up of your team,” Few said. “Now the selection committee will tell you otherwise.”

Jones said Saint Mary’s probably doesn’t have as much big-game experience as last year’s team, but might be better defensively and have more offensive weapons.

“You always want to play the top-ranked teams because those are the fun games to be part of,” he said. “Our coaches did a good job of getting good teams that we were able to get better as we played them and make sure we developed.”
