COUGARS

Yesterday was a busy one in terms of WSU news, so we put together a post this morning to fill you in on all the happenings.

...

Here's our story that resulted from the commitment of 4-star quarterback Tyler Bruggman (plus a version that ran in the Seattle Times), who chose the Cougars over his hometown school, Arizona State. We also had a blog post about the news yesterday with some video. ... Patrick Simon, a junior-to-be from Ephrata, is headed elsewhere after WSU announced that he will transfer from the men's basketball team. As Howie Stalwick mentions briefly near the bottom of this story, Simon's decision was motivated by a lack of playing time, though he enjoyed everything else that came along with being a Cougar (more quotes from Simon can be found here). That certainly makes sense, though the timing of this announcement suggests Simon's decision materialized somewhat recently, as coach Ken Bone had said that he didn't anticipate any defections (walk-on Chuks Iroegbu left the program at the end of the school year). ... Here's a post over at ESPN.com with some comments from Bruggman. ... Here's a story on another of WSU's 2013 verbal commitments.

All for now.
