Eagles prepare for Griz

I caught up with the Eastern Washington men's basketball team at their practice Sunday evening, and they feel tournament-tested after their big win Saturday afternoon over Idaho State. Look for a preview of the gam in Tuesday's paper. The team left for Missoula this morning to prepare for their Big Sky semifinal game at Montana Tuesday night at 7,300-seat Dahlberg Arena, which can be a pretty intimidating place:

Tipoff is at 7 p.m., following the other semifinal game between Weber State and Portland State, and I will be there.

Speaking of the Grizzlies, here are some links about the team, including a nice feature on reserve Mike Weisner, a statistical look at what the team has done this year and finally a short opinion piece on why the school should renew the contract of coach Wayne Tinkle.
