The CBI continues in Pullman

COUGARS

FROM PULLMAN -- Wyoming it is. And in Pullman. That's the gist of your WSU news for the day, but read on for more.

...

If you checked the blog last night, or read the newspaper this morning, you know that Washington State's next game in the College Basketball Invitational will be against Wyoming, at Beasley Coliseum, at 7 p.m. Monday. No TV for this one, though. The Cowboys took a 78-75 win over North Dakota State last night in Laramie. That's about all we have for you in the way of WSU news for today. The NCAA tournament begins in earnest this morning, and we'll tune into as much of it as we can. You can follow our commentary on Twitter.

As for yesterday's Pac-12 action ...

NCAA -- South Florida 65, California 54: It was a pathetic showing for the Bears in their "first four" game on Wednesday, as they scored just 13 points in the first half of a game that wasn't nearly as close as the final score indicated.

NIT -- Bucknell 65, Arizona 54: The Wildcats didn't seem particularly interested in playing in the NIT, and it showed in this loss. But at least it's over now.

CBI -- Oregon State 80, Western Illinois 59: Hardly anybody showed up to see the Beavers win a blowout. But OSU still got its 20th win.

And today ...

NCAA -- No. 6 UNLV vs. No. 11 Colorado -- The Buffaloes will try to carry the banner for the Pac-12 in the NCAA tournament.

Elsewhere ... Do Washington fans care about the NIT? ... ASU's football coach is encouraged by the progress his new team is making. USC's Garrett Jackson will transfer. ... A Cal receiver had a big Pro Day.

All for now.
