WSU links on a Saturday


FROM SEATTLE -- There's just enough news to link to on this Saturday that we'll put together a morning post for you. Read on.


The biggest news yesterday was the reported hiring of former Washington State coach Paul Wulff by the San Francisco 49ers. Still haven't heard back from Wulff or from the 49ers, though the former Cougar coach told that he started the job last Monday. We hope to have some more details for you once the hire is officially announced. ... DaVonte Lacy will be playing overseas this summer for the U.S. Eagles, a collection of college players who will face professional teams in East Asia this June. For the complete roster, click here. The team will be coached by Washington assistant Paul Fortier. ... The WSU baseball team took another step in the wrong direction on Friday, losing the opening game of their series against Stanford 3-2. ... The WSU women's tennis team won its first-round match at the NCAA championships, 4-3 over Florida State, to advance to the second round for just the second time in school history. In addition, head coach Lisa Hart was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year. ... Pacific Takes analyzes WSU's basketball team.
