Game Day links from Corvallis

Ok, actually we're staying in a hotel in Salem - roughly an hour from Reser Stadium, but perhaps more if the Oregon Duck fans clog the freeway on their way south to Eugene. Maybe we'll take the back road, but what if all the Oregon State fans are going that way? I have no clue - unlike the Eastern Washington players, who think they have some ideas on how to knock off the 25th-ranked Beavers. Oregonian beat writer Linday Schnell offers a few insights from the questions I posed her this week. Perhaps the clues lie elsewhere: North Dakota State's upset of Kansas State, or in one of the other games the last two nights that saw FCS teams knock of the big boys.

Other than that, we can only guess at the outcome. I'm on record as picking Oregon State to edge the Eagles 38-27. The Oregonian sees it as a bit more one-sided than that. The Oregonian also has a story about the Oregon connections of some Eastern players, and a live chat on OSU football. (In case you missed it, here's the link to our own live chat from Thursday.) Elsewhere, Montana is preparing for its big game tonight against Appalachian State, while Weber State faces Stephen F. Austin. ... Last night, Northern Arizona was shut out by Arizona.
