Some Holiday gifts for bowl-bound Cougars

From Pullman -- Win or lose, college football teams that play in bowl games don't come home empty handed. Bowls are allowed to give up to $550 worth of gifts to each player, and taking a look at the swag has become an annual part of the lore surrounding bowl games. SportsBusinessDaily.com has a list of what every school receives. Here is what the Cougars will collect:

  • Portable mobile device charger
  • Oakley Breadbox sunglasses
  • 8 GB USB drive
  • Oakley Fine Knit beanie
  • Oakley Flak Pack XL Backpack
  • Gildan Stadium blanket
  • A gift suite

What is a gift suite you may ask? Jeff Nusser of CougCenter.com has the details, after the jump.

Gift suite items
  • 23-inch Toshiba 1080P LED TV
  • Blu-ray player
  • Skullcandy headphones
  • Fossil watches
  • iPhone cases
  • Bluetooth sound system

That won't be the only thing the players receive. The NCAA allows schools and conferences to buy additional gifts. Players can receive $400 worth of bowl gifts from both WSU and the Pac-12. All told they can walk away with over $1,300 worth of gifts.
