Bud Withers' column in The Seattle Times includes a quote from Marquess Wilson's stepfather noting that Wilson is in Florida preparing for the NFL draft. ... Todd Dybas' Pac-12 basketball notebook leads with an item about Bone's end-of-game strategy against Washington. ... Tough times for Stanford, WSU's opponent tonight at 7 p.m. ... UPDATE: Tweeted this last night but forgot to link it originally: the hire of Jeff Choate as UTEP's defensive coordinator has been made official, though athletic director Bill Moos said during his Monday radio show that Mike Leach is in pursuit of a couple "big time" assistants to replace Choate and departed inside receivers coach Eric Morris, who left to join the staff of coach Kliff Kingsbury at Texas Tech.

In Pac-12 basketball news ... There's one other basketball game tonight, as Washington visits California (8 p.m., ESPN2). The Huskies are trying to corral Cal's star guard, Allen Crabbe. A Cal player is looking for more playing time. ... Oregon State likes what it's getting out of its sixth man. ... Colorado prepares to host the southern California schools. ... It could be a wild ride in the Pac-12 this season. ... Arizona isn't sorry about the luck it used in its 14-0 start.

In Pac-12 football news ... More players are announcing their departure for the NFL, including a Cal cornerback and a Stanford cornerback. ... Lane Kiffin dreams about big things for USC. ... UCLA coach Jim Mora has reportedly been contacted by the San Diego Chargers. ... Will Sutton announced yesterday he'll return for his senior season.
