Late goal ties game for Chiefs

Todd Fiddler scored his team-high 30th goal with 11.1 seconds left in the first period Saturday night to allow the Spokane Chiefs to tie the Tri-City Americans at 1 after 20 minutes. Spokane outshot the Americans 18-6 during the period. Former Spokane Chief Luke Lee-Knight, starting in goal for Tri-City because of a season-ending injury to Eric Comrie, thwarted shot after shot until Fiddler's goal. Parker Bowles scored unassisted for the Americans at 11:40.
