Day after Oregon

FROM EUGENE — The Cougars are back in Pullman and will be attending classes shortly. We'll be spending the next couple of days down here before WSU plays at Oregon State on Saturday. For now, we have notes and links. Read on.

In today's newspaper, we had our game story, as well as our (very brief) weekly look at what's coming up for WSU and a note about Keaton Hayenga's 3-point attempt in this roundup. On the blog, we had some postgame quotes and our usual tale of the tape. … Here's the AP story. … Here's the game story from the Oregonian, and one from the Register-Guard. … WSU's running backs coach, Jim Mastro, figures prominently in this story about the origins of the Pistol offense. … WSU's next opponent, Oregon State, picked up its first conference win last night with a 74-66 victory over Washington.

Around the Pac-12 … There's a big game between Arizona and UCLA tonight (6 p.m., ESPN2), one Wildcats fans have looked forward to for a while. … Utah's offense is heating up in time for its game against California tonight (5:30 p.m., Pac-12 Networks). … Two teams off to middling starts, Stanford and Colorado, will face each other tonight in Boulder (7 p.m., ESPNU). … The nightcap features USC playing at Arizona State (7:30 p.m., Pac-12 Networks). … In football news … Bad news for Oregon on the crime front. … Here's a tidy recruiting roundup from's Pac-12 Blog.

That's all for now. We'll delay our live chat until Friday afternoon.
