Indians drop second straight to Volcanoes

The Spokane Indians had been on a roll through Wednesday, when they opened a five-game Northwest League series at Salem-Keizer with a 4-3 win. That victory gave Spokane nine wins in 10 games. Salem-Keizer, however, showed why it's leading the South Division with two straight easy wins, including Friday's 6-2 decision. Volcanoes pitchers held the Indians to one hit through seven innings. Indians starter Alex Gonzalez, a first-round draft selection still trying to find his groove, was hurt by the Volcanoes' four-run second inning. The series continues Saturday and Sunday before the Indians head home Monday for the first of three games against the Tri-City Dust Devils. Read story
