Washington State trails Stanford 35-23 at halftime of Friday's Pac-12 Conference tournament quarterfinal at KeyArena in Seattle. The Cougars haven't been able to stop 6-foot-4 junior forward Chiney Ogwumike, the Pac-12's player of the year, who has 17 points at halftime. WSU fell behind by 17 points (26-9) but cut the Cardinal's lead to eight points (31-23) before Amber Orrange and Ogwumike had baskets in the final 36 seconds. WSU head coach June Daugherty, who had an appendectomy on Thursday, is watching the game from behind the Cougars' bench but is joining in during timeouts.
