GU stays No. 1; WCC staying at Orleans

Gonzaga (30-2) remained No. 1 in both polls. The Zags defeated LMU 66-48 in their only game of the week.

GU received 54 first-place votes (51 last week) and 1,611 points (1,607 last week) in the AP Top 25. Duke (11 first-place votes, 1,559 points) picked up six more first-place votes and moved from third to second.

Gonzaga received the same number of first-place votes (29) and nearly the same points (772 vs. 773) to stay on top of the USA Today poll. Duke received the other two first-place votes and jumped from fourth to second.

Gonzaga faces Saint Mary's, No. 21 in USA Today's rankings, at 6 for the WCC championship.

As mentioned here before, the WCC will keep the WCC men's and women's tournaments at the Orleans Arena. The conference made it official on Monday, announcing a three-year agreement.
