Chiefs sew up No. 4 seed

Carter Proft scored twice and Eric Williams made 20 saves for his fourth shutout of the season Friday night as the Spokane Chiefs clinched the No. 4 seed to Western Hockey League's Western Conference playoffs with a 6-0 win over the Tri-City Americans at the Arena. Alessio Bertaggia added one goal and one assist, and Reid Gow, Brenden Kichton and Todd Fiddler had two assists apiece as Spokane made a statement before it begins a best-of-seven series with Tri-City next Friday at home. Spokane will have home-ice advantage over the fifth-seeded Americans. Story to come
