Spokane maintains two-goal lead

The Spokane Chiefs still lead the Tri-City Americans 3-1 after a scoreless second period Friday in the opener of a first-round series in the Western Hockey League playoffs at the Arena. The Americans thought they had scored on a power play late in the second period, but officials ruled it wasn't a goal. Shots favor Spokane 25-16.
