Early Sunday morning blues

GRIP ON SPORTS

I have some bad news ... or good news. It's just a matter how you look at it. Read on.

••••••••

• This is a conversation I imagined having with my boss (you guys) at 3:47 a.m. this morning ...

Me: "Is this the boss?"

Boss: "Yes, yes it is."

Me: "Listen, I'm not going to be able to post this morning."

Boss: "What? Why the heck not?"

Me: "Well, I had a bad night and I'm still not feeling very well."

Boss: "Too much celebrating the Eastern win? Or Gonzaga's? Or WSU's bye? You know, we don't pay you to go out partying with your friends."

Me: "No. Nothing like that. I have no friends. I was just up most of the night."

Boss: "I hope she was pretty."

Me: "No, it wasn't pretty at all. It was darn ugly. I do know one thing. I will never eat at (line garbled with static so the writer doesn't get sued) again."

Boss: "That was your first mistake. No one eats at (more static). Get well. We need you here."

Me: "I will. See you tomorrow."
