Gonzaga hosts new-look Rams

Gonzaga seemed to wait forever for the season to start with the new rules stretching out preseason drills. When the games began to count, the first two came in a hurry.

GU, which opened with a 100-76 victory over Bryant, is back at it 48 hours later against Colorado State, which has made the last two NCAA Tournament fields but must replace all five starters from last year's 26-9 team. The Rams, under second-year coach Larry Eustachy, are 1-0 after an easy win over Division II University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

I've known Eustachy for nearly 25 years, first covering his Idaho teams in the early 1990s. I caught up with him a couple years ago when his Southern Miss squad was at the same NCAA regional as Gonzaga in Pittsburgh. Here's that article.

My game preview here and the view from The Coloradoan (I've used up my number of free article views, but hoping this link works!).
