Hitmen take notice of Holmberg

This week's Western Hockey League notebook leads with reaction by the Calgary Hitmen after their 3-2 shootout loss to the visiting Spokane Chiefs on Sunday. Mitch Holmberg had one goal and one assist to continue his torrid scoring pace for Spokane. Sunday's game ended the Chiefs' three-games-in-three-nights swing through Eastern Conference teams in Alberta. Spokane went 2-1 on the trip to improve to 6-2 on the road and 8-2 overall this season. The schedule finally starts to swing in Spokane's direction Wednesday night, with the first of five consecutive games at the Arena. Swift Current, with the second-best record in the Eastern Conference, is the first rival. Read story
