Pac-12 picks for week 8
From San Francisco --Well, we came back down to earth a little bit this week. But really, if you’re a Utah fan, you don’t mind losing a little money for a victory like that. Lots of big games in the conference this week and at least a couple of them will have major implications for the conference standings. UCLA and Stanford will battle for the right to be second best, and Washington will look to prove it’s ready for primetime against ASU.
USC and Notre Dame are each having subpar seasons but can turn it around with a rivalry win. Here’s how I think things will shake out:

UCLA at Stanford, Stanford by 6: Stanford can’t afford to lose two in a row and the Bruins haven’t met their match physically, yet. Home-field advantage makes the difference. Stanford 31-28
Washington at ASU, ASU by 3: The Huskies have just played two very emotional, extremely physical games. The worn-out Huskies drop one on the road, 28-24
USC at Notre Dame, Notre Dame by 3: The excitement of playing for a new coach wears off as Notre Dame handles the Trojans. Notre Dame 31-17
Utah at Arizona, Arizona by 4: This Utah team is for real, as are the Wildcats’ struggles. Utah 27-14
WSU at Oregon, Oregon by 38: Are the Ducks feeling merciful? They can name the score against just about anyone. Oregon 52-14
OSU at Cal, OSU by 10 1/2: Connor Halliday put up 521 yards in Berkeley, just imagine what Sean Mannion will do. OSU 42-17
Last week: 4-2 straight up, 3-3 against the spread. Overall: 9-2, 7-4.
