Chiefs’ offense is clicking in opener

Mitch Holmberg already has a hat trick after two periods as the Spokane Chiefs lead the Tri-City Americans 6-2 in the Western Hockey League season opener for both teams at the Toyota Center in Kennewick. Holmberg's first two goals came 2 minutes, 48 second apart in the first period. His third goal came with 5 seconds left in the second period. He also has an assist. Mike Aviani and Connor Chartier have one goal and one assist apiece for the Chiefs, who hold a 26-18 advantage in shots on goal.
