Eastern and Big Sky links

Yes,everything IS a little bigger in Texas - even the hotel rooms. The Eagles are spending the weekend at the LaTorretta Resort in Conroe, the same place where Alabama stayed a few weeks ago for their win at nearby Texas A&M. Several players have already Tweeted about "living large."

That will change this afternoon, when the Eagles visit Sam Houston State for the biggest FCS non-conference game of the year. Here's my preview, a short pre-game capsule, and my report from last night's practice. The local newspaper, the Huntsville Item, has a pregame interview with SHSU coach Willie Friz as well as a look at the newcomers on defense.

Elsewhere in the Big Sky, Weber State - the Eagles' next opponent - will open conference play against Sacramento State with a true freshman quarterback. ... North Dakota and Montana State are both desperate for a win today. ... The stakes are much higher in today's Montana-Northern Arizona game in Flagstaff.
