WSU flips an OSU recruit

Washington State's defensive backfield got a little older today with JC cornerback Treshon Broughton's college switch.

More on WSU's newest recruit after the jump.

Braulio Perez reported this afternoon ($) that the Riverside City College has decided to play at WSU despite a previous decision to attend Oregon State. He told Perez that OSU coach Mike Riley's departure played a role in his decision, despite the fact that the Cougars have neither a defensive coordinator nor a secondary coach currently on staff.

However, he apparently has a close relationship with linebackers coach Ken Wilson and is friends with WSU linebacker Greg Hoyd, whose father is an assistant coach at Riverside.

Broughton does have a redshirt year available as well as two years to play, so he will essentially enroll as a true junior. He claims scholarship offers from California, Iowa State, Kentucky and other FBS schools.
