Unranked but receiving votes in the polls, the Washington State baseball team nearly started off the season with a series win over the top-ranked team in the country. It was not to be, however, as the Cougars fell just short in the ninth inning ... The WSU women's basketball team continued to win, however, and Tia Presley poured in 32 points as the Cougars beat Colorado on the road ... The Ducks beat their rival Beavers on Sunday ... USC's losing streak continued against Colorado ... Dave Boling says the Huskies need a wakeup call.
