The Spokane Shock came close to returning to the top of the AFL last year, but they couldn't hang on to a halftime lead and lost to eventual champion Arizona in the National Conference title game. Losing stings, especially when it comes so close to the ultimate goal, but it also serves as motivation in the offseason.

The Shock want to take the next step, the next two actually and win the ArenaBowl this season.
