Pac-12 officiating official resigns

Last night the Pac-12 announced that Coordinator of Officials, Tony Corrente, resigned for personal and professional reasons and that Larry Blackwood will fill in as interim coordinator.

Jon Wilner tweeted that a Pac-12 source said that Corrente was not forced out, and that in fact the league had been hoping to extend his contract. Officials are rarely popular with fans but this year in particular has been has seen a number of controversial calls. It's unlikely that much will change in the near future as a result of Corrente's resignation but it will be interesting to see who the permanent replacement ends up being.
