The college football forecast: hazy

For the second practice out of their last three, the Eagles awoke Monday morning to air quality that is officially "unhealthy" for strenuous exercise. Coach Beau Baldwin duly canceled morning practice and hoped for the best. Luckily, the winds from the region's many forest fires shifted just enough to allow the Eagles to practice Monday afternoon and night. Will Eastern be as lucky today? Stay tuned. ... In Eugene, former EWU quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. appears to be catching up with the competition, and he appeared in this video following Monday's practice. ... Eastern does have another game after Oregon, namely a road game against a Northern Iowa team that has some questions to answer. ... Montana State coach Rob Ash said his defense isn't as bad as it looked in the last scrimmage.
