WSU’s attendance could skyrocket on Sunday
Washington State's game against Arizona last week was the highest-attended home game of the season but history shows the Cougars should top it this weekend.
Playing the Huskies has been a surefire way to get people in Beasley Coliseum and since the 2005-06 season the UW game has had around 2,800 more attendees than the WSU home average. That includes the Jan. 4 game in the 2008-09 season when the Cougars were averaging around 8,000 per game anyways and the difference was just 89 attendees.
If the trend continues than the Cougars should expect about 5,800 people for Sunday's game, which would be about 300 more than the Cougars drew against the Wildcats.
They might even outperform that, however, since the program is celebrating its "10 years of Zzu Crew" anniversary. Any former member of the student section can get a ticket for just $10 and wearing a Zzu Crew t-shirt from any year gets you in The Cage.
A double-header might also draw a few extra people since the women's team will be going for their own sweep against the Huskies at 1 p.m.
