It’s a day of opportunity for Eastern

It's a big day for Eagle fans, who'll watch their men's and women's basketball teams in today's Big Sky Conference semifinals here in Missoula. The men got here after an exciting win over Idaho to set up a today's 4:30 p.m. semi against Sacramento State, while the women face host Montana at 12:30 p.m. The men's semifinal matches close friends Jim Hayford of Eastern and Brian Katz of Sac State - read about them in my notebook. ...Both tournaments have gone according to form so far, with the higher-seeded teams going 8-for-8 for so. Interesting, top-seeded Montana has struggled in both brackets, including an incredible win last night over Weber State. The Missoulian has it covered, and also has a look at the EWU-Montana women's matchup.
