Morning links: It’s basketball season

Washington State hosts Northern Arizona tonight at 5:30 p.m. in Beasley Coliseum in the first game of the season, which will broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.

That will just be the first round of a pretty important sports weekend at WSU. On Saturday the WSU soccer team will host an NCAA tournament game and the football team will try to pick up its seventh win. To beat UCLA, the Cougars will have to contend with a pretty special freshman quarterback.

The WSU football team wrapped up its week with a Thursday Night Football practice yesterday. We have post-practice video of defensive coordinator Alex Grinch and running backs coach Jim Mastro. Brian Anderson previews the matchup with the Bruins with his Pre-Snap Read.

UCLA will be missing a couple players against WSU. … The Ducks want to be more arizona than just the reason Stanford missed the playoffs  … The USC defense has gotten more aggressive under interim coach Clay Helton.
