Morning links: Sarkisian out at USC

The big news yesterday was that USC has fired Steve Sarkisian just one day after placing the coach on a leave of absence. Many analysts are placing blame for Sarkisian's rapid fall on school administrators. Dan Wolken has a list of 10 possible replacements. Ted Miller says that athletic director Pat Haden shouldn't make the hire. Clay Helton is going to be USC's coach for the time being. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say on today's Pac-12 coaches' teleconference.

In WSU news the Cougars had their weekly press conference yesterday. That means we have our weekly notebook, first look at Oregon State and a transcription of Mike Leach's remarks. We also transcribed some of the highlights from our player interviews.

Jeff Nusser at CougCenter's Monday post was bit cheerier this week. … Stefanie Loh looks at how the Cougars stack up against OSU. … The WSU Football Blog wrote about managing expectations. … Luke Falk tops the Pac-12 Blog's QB Power Rankings this week. … The Evergreen State has a lot of football momentum right now.
