Spokane went on the road for the second straight week and claimed its second straight AFL win.
The Shock thumped the Chicago Rush 76-61 on Sunday to improve to 2-0. Erik Meyer finished with seven touchdown passes, three to Adron Tennell.

Just as Erik Meyer appeared to be settling in as the Shock's starting quarterback he had to leave the field with assistance from the training staff. Meyer, in his second start, departed in the third quarter after making a tackle on a Chicago defender who had picked off a Meyer pass.
Meyer suffered a concussion on the play. His status for Saturday's road game against New Orleans will be determined later this week. Meyer missed part of last season, when he was Spokane's backup quarterback, with a pinched nerve.
The former Eastern Washington standout tossed seven touchdown passes in his debut as the starter, leading Spokane past Philadelphia two weeks ago. He followed that up with five TDs against Chicago before he was injured.

The Spokane Shock have had several chances to string some wins together this season, but only once have they had back-to-back victories. They get another chance tomorrow when Chicago visits the Arena.

Spokane and Chicago traded touchdowns until deep into the fourth quarter when the Shock defense made a goal-line stand. The Shock turned that stop into a Greg Orton touchdown reception at the other end and Spokane went on to a 63-49 win at the Arena on Friday..
The victory gives Spokane hosting rights throughout the playoffs.
