Alert for women’s basketball, hockey, prep wrestling

I'm sitting in the bowels of the Tacoma Dome with my head spinning. I've been pressed into emergency service at the State wrestling tournament, which under the best of circumstances could be described as Romper Room on steroids - too much craziness going on.

I have no idea what's going on yet - I haven't even read the newspaper yet - and I'm sleep deprieved.

Anyway, I don't know what I'll be able to post or tweet as I get up to speed. Also, women's basketball and hockey are going to be delayed or, sadly, completely neglected. No time to link, but I've dropped in the story from the Chiefs big road win at Kelowna last night.

I'll do my best to keep up and keep you informed.

Chiefs end skid with 5-2 victory

Spokane put a two-game losing streak to bed with a 5-2 victory over Prince Albert on Friday at the Arena. The Chiefs will go for their first back-to-back wins of the young season tonight when they host Seattle at 7.

Below, you can read my unedited game story as I’m pinch-hitting for beat writer Dave Trimmer.

Chiefs start process

Hello hockey fans. With all of our changes, I find myself back on the hockey beat. After spending time with Chiefs general manager Tim Speltz, coach Hardy Sauter and new assistant coach Jon Klemm on Monday, I’m set to go. Along the way I hope to make Sportslink the place to go to keep up with the Chiefs and the Western Hockey League. And there is news to get us started.
