Losses don't come much tougher than the one Spokane experienced Saturday night.
The Shock scored with 10 seconds left to take a 50-46 lead, but Cleveland connected on arena football's version of the Hail Mary, a desperation heave into the netting at the back of the end zone on the final play to pull out a 52-50 victory.
Thyron Lewis pulled in the game-winning 29-yard pass after the ball had rebounded off the netting.

The well-traveled Kyle Rowley, now with Portland, and the Thunder came up short against San Jose.
The Spokane Shock are traveling to Cleveland today for Saturday’s contest with the Gladiators. The Shock’s roster juggling continued this week as Ben McCombs (pictured above) and Quorey Payne went on injured-reserve.
More on that below in my unedited preview.
UPDATE: Almost forgot to mention that ex-Shockie Kevin McCullough, who was put on recallable reassignment earlier this week, was recalled by Oklahoma City. Interestingly, OKC also added another linebacker, Turna Nande (6-1, 245), who is nearly the exact same size as McCullough, on the same day. Also, former Shock kicker Brian Jackson is back on Alabama’s active roster (seems like he’s been off and on a couple times this season).
I just filed my game story from Spokane’s 72-68 loss to Cleveland on Saturday night at the Arena. I’m not sure I’ve seen a crazier game than this one in the Shock’s five years of playing arena football.
Read on for the unedited article that will run in Sunday’s S-R.
After a bye week, Spokane (2-1) will try to pick up where it left off. The Shock put a two-game winning streak on the line when Cleveland (0-3) visits for a 7 p.m. kickoff Saturday at the Arena.
