Barham nominated for ‘Good Works Team’

Gonzaga senior Drew Barham has been nominated for the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Allstate Insurance Company's Good Works Team”, which recognizes collegiate student-athletes who have made significant contributions to the greater good of their communities through volunteerism and civic service.

Barham is one of 201 nominees.

Among his numerous service contributions, Barham went on a 10-day goodwill tour of Lithuania this summer with Athletes in Action and an 18-day trek of China in 2011. More on Barham here.

Turned into a busy news day with Gonzaga. The WCC has voted to change its tournament format for men's and women's basketball, beginning with the 2014 events. That's the season Pacific joins to make the WCC a 10-team league.

The double-byes for the top two seeds into the semifinals will be scrapped. The top six teams will receive byes into the quarterfinals.

Also, Memphis wing Drew Barham will transfer to Gonzaga, where he'll have two years of eligibility.
