Game day is approaching for Gonzaga, which visits Loyola Marymount on Thursday in Los Angeles.

Stephanie Golden had a career-high 15 points and the No. 22 Gonzaga women's basketball team earned a 79-61 win over Loyola Marymount at the McCarthey Athletic Center on Thursday night. As you'll see in my story, I overheard a fan throw out a horrendously obvious pun after the game. I'd like to thank that fan. After he said it, I couldn't get it out of my head. Hence, the first couple paragraphs.

Gonzaga took control early, led by 30 barely a minute into the second half and cruised to a 93-60 West Coast Conference victory over Loyola Marymount on Saturday at Gersten Pavilion.
The 23rd-ranked Bulldogs, winners of six straight, improved to 14-4, 5-0 in the WCC. LMU dropped to 1-20, 0-5.

According to America’s Line in today’s S-R, Gonzaga is the biggest favorite (26.5 points) on a list of 90 college games. There’s only one other game (Davidson by 21.5 over Wofford) with a point spread of 20 or higher.
