Eags keep hopes alive by edging UNC

They are tearing down the press courtside press tables at Reese Court, and the power had bee n shut off, but I still wanted to post the story on Eastern’s important 60-59 win over Northern Colorado on Saturday night.

You can read an unedited version of the gamer that will appear in Sunday morning’s S-R below.  And I would love to hear what those of you in attendance thought of UNC coach Tad Boyle’s meltdown over an officials call near the end of the game.

Good afternoon.

I have links to several items concerning EWU’s men’s basketball team, which entertains Big Sky Conference rival Idaho State at 7:05 tonight at Reese Court.

The Eagles will be without Trey Gross, whose whereabouts are still a mystery to EWU coach Kirk Earlywine after the sophomore guard did not return to school following Christmas break.  You can read more here.

In addition, I’ve included this link to a feature story on Eastern’s junior point guard and Big Sky scoring leader Benny Valentine, who overcame some legal problems en route to Cheney.

The games will serve as the nightcap of a women’s-men’s doubleheader, with BSU entertaining Arizona in the 5 p.m. opener.

You can get more details from EWU’s sports information department here, and more on the game from Boise’s perspective here.
