FROM PULLMAN — By the end of today, we should know — officially and for serious — who will compose the Cougars' freshman class next season. There's a heck of a lot going on today, so hurry up and read on for what we hope is a useful summary.

Paul Wulff has been relieved of his duties as head football coach at Washington State, The Spokesman-Review has learned. He was told in a meeting with Bill Moos this morning. Here is the link to my story. More to come.

Defending Pac-12 champion Oregon is the choice to win the 2011 Pac-12 Conference football title in a preseason poll of media members who regularly cover the league.

Offensive linemen Rico Forbes and Taylor Meighen have each signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at Washington State University, Cougar coach Paul Wulff announced Wednesday. Both are expected to enroll in classes at WSU for spring semester, beginning Jan. 10.
