Mad for madeleines

 (Adriana Janovich)
(Adriana Janovich)

Madeleines are golden, light, buttery and gone in two or three bites.

Seashell-shaped and cookie-sized, they’re also as cute as can be. Ripe red berries give them a festive feel.

They're French and dainty, but don't let that deter you. Madeleines are surprisingly easy to prepare. So you just might want to make these little cuties for someone special - or your special self - this Valentine’s Day.

Find the recipe – as well as several variations – in Wednesday’s Spokesman-Review Food section.

Look for homemade amaretto, too.

And, as always, Fresh Sheet features a few food-related tidbits.

Have a special Valentine’s Day recipe to share? Email it to Food Editor Adriana Janovich at adrianaj@spokesman.com. It just might makes it way to the Too Many Cooks blog.

Cheers!
