Too Many Cooks

Sneak peek

Summer is Renee Cebula’s busy season.

She hauls out her vintage travel trailer and fills it with delicate, highly breakable vintage barware. Then, she parks it at events throughout  Spokane and, this year, as far away as Seattle.

Her business, Raising the Bar, celebrates its second anniversary this summer. Wednesday, meet her and her son, Mac Kenney, a Seattle-area distiller, in the Spokesman-Review Food section.

Kenney is the distiller at broVo Spirits, known for its amaro line, botanical liqueurs and vermouth. The latest creation, developed by a bartender at The Aviary in Chicago, is called Boomerang. Kenney can’t make it fast enough.

There’s also a review of “The Complete Vegetarian Cookbook” from America’s Test Kitchen, the weekly Fresh Sheet feature and a listing of area farmers markets, which are opening up around the region for the season.

Cheers!
