After investigating, deputies and the clerk discovered the suspect disabled a part in the pump that measures gas volume. That allowed the theft of 995 gallons, worth $4,092.Mike Macho, of JMP Solutions, says officials with his company have their hands full with what is becoming a popular way for thieves to steal gas.
"I was here last week fixing the same problem, the same dispenser, on two other products," he said.
