VROOM! Off to Grandmother’s House We Go!

A nine-year-old boy was caught driving to his grandmother's house in his parents' car in Tokyo this week.

Several eye witnesses claimed they saw the vehicle moving without a driver because the boy was too small to be seen from outside the vehicle.

In an interview with Kyodo News, the boy said that he learned how to drive from both his father and arcade games.

He eventually got lost and pulled into a convenience store, where the police finally caught up with him.

It's quite possible that the boy isn't quite ready for the independent life.

In 2006, then-editor Steve Smith of The Spokesman-Review had the idea of starting a publication for an often forgotten audience: teenagers. The Vox Box was a continuation of the Vox, an all-student staffed newspaper published by The Spokesman-Review. High school student journalists who staffed the Vox made all content decisions as they learn about the trade of journalism. This blog's mission was to give students an opportunity to publish their voices. The Vox Box and the Vox wrapped up in June 2009, but you can follow former staffers' new blog at http://voxxiez.blogspot.com.
