Heirloom Gardeners Food & Wine Weekend
Enjoy a weekend of farm and garden tours and food and wine tasting in this charming, historic town of 2,500. Tour rooftop gardens, turn-of-the-century Victorian gardens, a gentleman farmers garden and two Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) gardens. There is wine and cheese tasting at the Monteillet Fromagerie, a small artisan farm specializing in goat and sheep cheeses in the French style. Enjoy beautiful Bordeaux-style wines at Dumas Station Wines and be one of the first to tour the Blue Mountain Station, a LEED certified food processing center featuring five artisan food processors, a community kitchen and a co-op market. Opening in November, Blue Mountain Station is a fine example of heirloom living in a modern world. The weekend builds to an Heirloom Gardeners Food & Wine Tasting event on a small farm. Surrounded by chickens, pigs and abundant produce. Enjoy a tasting of local wine and beer and heirloom vegetables and then sit down to a meal of local beef and pork before heading back down to Main Street for live music frivolity.
