Comedian Wanda Sykes

One of Entertainment Weekly’s 25 Funniest People in America, will bring her trademark comedic sass. Called “one of the funniest stand-up comics” by her peers, her smart, quick-witted comedic style defines her award-winning career as a successful comedian, actress, writer and commentator. Her career took off after being recruited from the stand-up comedy circuit to write for HBO’s award winning “The Chris Rock Show.” She starred in and wrote two of her own TV series, “Wanda at Large” and “Wanda Does It” and has been a series regular on “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and as part of the Emmy Award winning team on HBO’s “Inside the NFL.” Her film credits include highly successful movies, such as “Evan Almighty” with Steve Carell, and voices for the animated movies “Over the Hedge,” “Rio” and “Ice Age: Continental Drift.” In 2009 Sykes appeared at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner as the first African American woman and openly LGBT person to be
the featured entertainer. Sykes is a seven-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee, winning one Primetime Emmy, three Sports Emmy Awards, an American Comedy Award, a BET Comedy Award and a GLAAD Media Award.
