Hot Club of San Francisco
“Cool Yule” performance of Gypsy jazz headed to the North Pole. Featuring many favorites and rarer seasonal gems, the jazzy holiday concert will have something for everyone. A festive social at 6:30 p.m. in the theater lobby will feature a visit from Santa Butch, complimentary light holiday fare provided by Banyans on the Ridge and a beer and wine cash bar.
Powered by the violin of two-time Grammy Award winner Evan Price, the velvet voice of Isabelle Fontaine and a swinging rhythm section, the ensemble celebrates the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli’s pioneering Quintette du Hot Club de France with style and panache. To hear the group live, or on any of its 13 albums, is to be carried back to the 1930s into the small, smoky jazz clubs of Paris and the refined lounges of the famous Hotel Ritz.
