The 38th Annual Flannery Lecture

“Toward A Mystical–Political Theology of Solidarity,” by Dr. M. Shawn Copeland, Professor of Systematic Theology at Boston College. She is a former president of the Catholic Theological Society of America (CTSA), and a former Convener of the Black Catholic Theological Symposium (BCTS), an interdisciplinary learned association of Black Catholic scholars. The lecture proposes a connection between Martin Luther King Jr.’s notion of the beloved community and a notion of the Mystical Body of Christ as he gave almost 50 years ago in his sermonic address.
